Alte Schule

We booked a B&B room at the last minute and were welcomed warmly. It was clean and cozy, with everything a hiker could want. The mattress was wonderful, and I had the deepest, most restful sleep. Thanks so much, we'd happily come back.

The breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were charming. The whole place feels distinctive and well cared for, with the building furnished lovingly and lots of attention to detail. We'd be glad to return, and I highly recommend it.

The landlord was very friendly and easy to deal with, but I can't understand why the reviews are so overwhelmingly positive. I relied on them when I booked. The old-fashioned character may be something they want to preserve, flaws included, but the photos don't show the condition clearly. The window panes are cracked, there's no insulation at all, and the apartment's front door is so warped that there's a big gap. The old bathroom sink also looks quite unhygienic because of its age and cracks. Guests can use the private pool if they want to, but that's entirely up to them.

Our dog came with us for five nights in the Old Schoolhouse, and we'd gladly return. It's set up in a converted half-classroom, with a kitchen, dining table and chairs, wardrobe, a small table with chairs, and a shower room. The bed is 1.40 x 2.00 meters, which was perfectly adequate. Highly recommended!
