Bäckerei & Pension Seegerer

The Käse-Kirsch-Blätterteigkuchen is the King of Kohngn! The Laugenteilchen are top-notch, though there are other ones in the district that are good in a different way. You can tell it's all still made by hand. Really friendly staff, and an easy recommendation.

Breakfast was a treat: homemade strawberry yogurt, eggs, juice, rolls, jam, and lots of fresh sausage from the local butcher. Mrs. Seegerer was cheerful and looked after us so well. We were also warmly welcomed as motorcyclists, and there was parking for the bikes. Our room was large, with a shower and a spacious balcony. We were already looking forward to breakfast the next day, and it lived up to expectations. Thanks!

We came for the Upper Palatinate Festival and only needed the room for a few hours 🫣😂. Mrs. Seegerer runs the place and is very friendly, and the service is top-notch. The rooms aren't especially up-to-date, but that doesn't bother me. Hot water, internet, a TV, and plenty of space are enough for me. Breakfast the next morning was great and more than adequate. We paid €90 for a double room with breakfast, which is somewhere between cheap and expensive. We'll be back next year.

The balcony view was fantastic, and breakfast was excellent with plenty to eat. My room was clean and basic. The problem was the price: on June 28, 2022, the bakery/guesthouse website still listed a single room at €45.00, but I paid €76.50. When I booked by phone, nobody mentioned the website prices were out of date, so I was surprised. On later nights while hiking the Goldsteig trail, I found single rooms with breakfast for €40.00 to €52.00, some much more modern.
