The beds were really comfortable, and the furnishings and amenities were at least mid-range. Still, for the price, the value just isn’t there. It’s a nice-looking property, but maintenance is lacking. The garden gets used as a dog toilet by guests with dogs, and the shared terrace is dirty and neglected. There’s an old rug by the entrance, and the place smells more like a barn than somewhere welcoming. It’s noisy, too, and with the window open the street noise is loud. The metal roof made our apartment hot even with daytime temperatures at 22 degrees Celsius. I can’t imagine how it would feel at 30 degrees. The Wi-Fi was so slow I couldn’t even read an email with an attachment. Kids who need a break from multimedia or social media will be fine here.

The location is very convenient, and the staff were friendly. The apartment is outside St. Peter-Ording (SPO), so there’s no tourist tax. It’s spacious, partly renovated, and the living room is very cozy. But the kitchen feels dated and has few extras. The old-fashioned radio is awkwardly placed for shorter people, and winding its antenna around the curtain rod looks unsightly. The toilet smelled terrible. We were told to force the temperature control on the shower because its head was clogged with soot, but we didn’t dare. The towel warmer stayed cold, and it was quite chilly on our last evening. I would have liked to turn up the heat, but it was clearly switched off. The playground equipment was in poor shape and filthy. I’m being picky because the night costs over €200, which is a lot of money to me. The value for the price isn’t right.

We had the accessible apartment and really enjoyed our stay. It was huge, spotless, and furnished with care as well as practicality. We came with a wheelchair and a large dog. The grounds are spacious and well maintained, with facilities for children and laundry available. A friendly caretaker is there on weekday mornings, and you can ask him anything. The landlady is warm and welcoming and was often on site. Since we were going to St. Peter-Ording anyway, it never bothered us that we could have asked at the beach hotel. The Wi-Fi is indeed weak, but that’s no reason to take off a star. We’d love to come back!

We spent 14 days in the Strandgut apartment with my parents and our three dogs. It had everything we could need, and the garden is a wonderful, peaceful place to relax. It’s only 6 km from St. Peter-Ording, and everyone was very friendly. The Wi-Fi worked this time. The apartment was accessible for my mother with her walker. We stayed in the Auszeit apartment last year and everything was great there, too. We’d love to return. Andrea and Andrea Bachmann ...

A stylish, pleasant holiday apartment with a country feel. It was clean and had everything we needed. The beach isn’t right nearby, but the distance is perfectly manageable.
