The breakfast buffet was good, and the new mattress was genuinely excellent. But I’d asked in advance for lactose-free dairy products, and none were provided. The young woman serving breakfast said she’d only got back from vacation the day before. At least the 60s music blaring from the bar into the breakfast area was nice. I probably won’t return. At first glance the room seemed nice, but closer up it was clear the work hadn’t been done professionally. Things were loose or missing everywhere, the shower fittings were the cheapest plastic, only channels 1 and 2 worked on the TV, and nothing in the room was really clean.

The forest trail right by the hotel made for nice short walks, and we set off on a lovely hike from there along the Gießkannenweg (Watering Can Path). The location is better than it looks on the map, and we found it quite central. The room and surroundings were very quiet, which we enjoyed. We were there outside peak season, so the outdoor pool and some amenities that are probably appealing in summer were unavailable, but that didn’t bother us. We were warmly welcomed. We did take off one star because we’d booked a double bed and a crib, but got a room with only the double bed.

Hotel guests can use the outdoor pool for free, and it’s right beside the hotel. The town center is a little farther out, around a 15-minute walk through the spa gardens. My spacious room was clean and well cared for, with a wardrobe, kettle, small fridge, and a large bathroom. Highly recommended.

The area around the hotel is beautiful and lovely to explore. Guests also get free direct access to the outdoor pool, a real highlight. The staff were exceptionally friendly and charming, and the rooms felt cozy. Some have a balcony or terrace, which is perfect for relaxing. A fantastic stay, highly recommended!
