At €104 a night, we felt the price was pretty high. We’ve booked much better-quality places nearby for that amount, so with basic amenities we expected more for the money and better cleanliness. The hosts were really lovely, though. The room wasn’t always clean, with mold in the shower and stains on the old carpet, and the whole house had an old, musty smell. We just didn’t feel comfortable there. Breakfast was okay, but some fruit or fresh vegetables and more choice of rolls would’ve been nice.

Breakfast was a highlight, with everything just right and crisp, fresh rolls from the bakery. The guesthouse was very quiet, and the rooms, with their carpet and tiles, had a distinctly retro feel, though everything was clean and tidy. It’s ideally placed for lovely hikes to the Lieser River, right on the Lieserweg trail. In the evenings, we would’ve liked somewhere to sit together, chat, or play cards, but the main dining room was closed.
