The apartment was comfortable, spotless, well equipped, and functional, and we had a lovely stay. Everyone was kind and helpful. The owners bought an old school and are gradually converting it into a guesthouse, doing the work themselves while respecting the rules protecting the building as a monument. Best wishes to the young couple, their family, and their cats. Good luck with the guesthouse.

The Schul Inn is a lovely find. We were welcomed so warmly and got a bigger room than the one we booked. Everything is beautifully decorated and very well cared for. The old school building has a charm of its own, and I’m curious to see what the owners do with the building and garden. We could even charge our electric car there. We’d be happy to return, and I highly recommend it.

A great place to stay if you’re exploring Thal, Ruhla, or the surrounding area, whether for hiking or work. The forest is right nearby, and the Rennsteig trail is not far away. The family is friendly, committed, and easy to contact when you have questions. My bright room was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean, and I loved coming back to it after a hike. The historic elementary school gives the house a story of its own. It stands out in Thal while still being in a quiet spot. Five stars, highly recommended. :)

The quiet setting made it easy to relax, and the hosts were so friendly and helpful that I felt welcome right away. The rooms are inviting, clean, and furnished with taste. For family-run accommodation that’s kept in good condition, Pension Schul is a great choice. It exceeded my expectations, and we’ll definitely come back!
