Hotel Villa Alice

The kitchen deserves a huge THANKYOU. Best Royal Rumble 2026!

The room was warm, parking was free, and I liked the old building and cozy restaurant. The hotel is also in a good location. But the welcome felt very average. I had to run up and down from the third floor three times just to get coffee in my room, and checkout wasn't friendly. The shower door was broken, and the bed's odd design meant my knee kept hitting its edge. I told the hotel it was my wife's birthday, but nobody even wished her happy birthday. At a hotel in Wernigerode, they gave me sparkling wine and a card for mine. I've owned a hospitality consulting company for 25 years, so I'd advise the owners to pay more attention to welcoming guests, train the staff, and offer service in at least one language besides German, such as English.

The view from our room was incredible, and we woke up to a rainbow right outside the window. The room itself felt more like somebody's guest room than a hotel room, which we loved, and it was perfect for us. My boyfriend and I felt comfortable right away in this cozy hotel. We also arrived on Sunday evening and were glad the restaurant and bar stayed open until 9 pm. The menu was pretty big, with something for everybody. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to the Harz Mountains.

We liked the huge room and its very nice furniture. The bath was on the small side, but it was okay, and the restaurant food was great. There was work going on in the street, though it didn't disturb us. We parked a block from the hotel so we wouldn't have to go into the work area. The hotel is near a few walking paths, but it's a bit out on the edge of Thale. A very nice place to stay.
