Simple and down to earth, nothing fancy.

I spent two weeks here in Tholey for work, and the service was excellent. Whenever I had a request or complaint, it was taken care of right away. The food was great too, all freshly prepared, and they’d make dishes that weren’t on the menu if you asked. Thanks for the lovely hospitality. If I’m back in the area for business, I’ll keep this hotel in mind.

The room was probably fine for one night, but there’s a lot that could be better if you’re staying longer. For €130 a night, I expected more comfort. There were no blackout curtains or blinds, and barely any outlets near the bed. The room felt rustic and stuck in an old 80s style, with a stained, dated carpet. Check-in was just a key handover, with no details about breakfast, checkout, or reception hours, which made the hotel feel a little routine. There’s no hotel parking either. Public spaces are about 80 meters away, but you need a parking disc and can only stay for four hours.

Everything else was fine, but the drink prices really bothered me. A 0.4cl beer was €8 and a white house wine was €5.30. All week I’d been paying around €4 for the same beer, so I felt completely ripped off.
