The breakfast was stunning, and the rooms had modern fittings with everything we needed. Staying overnight in a castle felt like a dream. My wife and I wished we could have stayed longer, and we’ll definitely return when we’re in the region.

The staff were enthusiastic and amazing, and there was plenty of divine food. Such a beautiful place, really well preserved and presented. All around lovely.

The breakfast was the same every day, with no real choices for non-German kids. We also couldn’t get the Wi-Fi working. The manager said he’d try to fix it, but never did, and he was late with the promised updates while acting as our airport contact. He was friendly, though it didn’t feel genuine. We were there for my brother’s wedding and got a standard room because it had more space for the two pack and plays our kids needed. After my brother was in a car accident and couldn’t fly, they asked for half of what the bill would have been. They also tried to charge a friend 200 euro for an alleged urine stain on a duvet we never saw. My friend hadn’t had anything to drink, wasn’t drunk, and wasn’t an animal. Those are my thoughts. The manager Matt may be trying to make up for the days when this place is clearly unoccupied in such a little town, or, and I hope not, he may be racist.

Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were clean, though a bit old. It’s a beautiful castle in a quiet old village, but it’s under reconstruction, so you can’t see it in all its beauty.
