Hotel Central

Breakfast was the surprise here: lots of choice, very fresh and good quality. It really lifted my impression of the place. The location is great, just a few hundred metres from Altona station. The room and hotel itself were drab and basic, with old facilities, though everything was clean. There's no lift, so you have to carry your case upstairs, which may be difficult. It just about does the job if all you need is somewhere to sleep for the night. I'd give the room and hotel 2.5, and breakfast 5.

Handy for a short stay and easy to reach. The room was modestly set up but clean, and rooms have wifi. Breakfast is shared with Best Western guests; the food was good and well serviced, better than average for that level, I’d say. Trains can be noisy early in the morning, but Altona station makes this a good transport option.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh bread, fruit, cheeses, and meats. The staff were helpful and friendly, too. And the bathroom was bigger than the ones I’ve had at other places.

The room was a decent size and comfortable, and the price was excellent for what you get. Staff were polite. You can reach the hotel from the airport by train, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to the Reeperbahn. The hotel shares an entrance with the Best Western. There was some train station noise in the mornings.
