The mold, dust, and bugs around the dumpster by the kitchen window were alarming, and it gave off a nauseating smell. This was a basement apartment at Suites City Apartment Alsterlake in Hamburg. The conditions made it uncomfortable and, I believe, affected my children’s health: both developed asthma. I told the owner right away, but after multiple complaints they took no meaningful steps to fix anything. Their indifference felt deeply unprofessional. We expected a safe, livable home, not conditions that put our well-being at risk. I feel the situation violated our rights as tenants. I strongly advise anyone considering Suites City Apartment Alsterlake to reconsider and put their family’s health first. Staying there was a nightmare, and I urge potential tenants to steer clear.

The bathrooms are much too far from the rooms, and the lighting in them makes the experience uncomfortable. The rooms are bad in different ways, and one has almost no privacy because it’s RIGHT beside a huge shower you can enter from the rest of the house. I wouldn’t come here if you’re worried about feeling claustrophobic.

Getting around was easy: the red hop-on hop-off line stops right across from the terrace, where you can wait on a lounge chair, and both the S-Bahn and U-Bahn are about a 5-minute walk away. Street parking was easy to find and capped at €11.50 a day, which is incredibly cheap for Hamburg. The neighborhood is lovely, with tree-lined avenues and parks. The apartment itself is modern and super central. Entry is through a key box with two tokens, and it had all the practical things we needed for a short stay, including washing machine tablets, an iron and ironing board, and coffee. There’s also a flat-screen TV with Netflix, which made it feel almost like home. We’d recommend it to anyone. Thanks again to *The Suites Team*!

The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the furnishings were great. We were very happy there. It’s centrally located and has a sweet little front garden.
