The neighborhood is really pretty, and the place itself was tidy and very clean, including the rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. It's a nice, inexpensive option about half an hour from central Hamburg. I'd recommend it if you're traveling on a budget.

A bus ride of about 10-15 minutes gets you to the city center. The hostel is probably the best priced in town. Most rooms are shared, with beds, a fridge, and lockers; the showers and bathrooms are next to the rooms. There's also a large communal kitchen.

We were hitchhiking through Hamburg and found this as the cheapest hostel. For 15 euros a night it was clean and had pretty much what you'd expect. Lidl is just across the street. Our roommate smelled strongly of smoke, but apart from that it was a perfect low-cost stay.

We had a nice stay here, and the basic setup felt fair for the price. I'd have given it five stars, except someone was already in the room we'd booked and tried to get in again the next day.

The communal kitchen was clean and had all the appliances we needed. Hansezimmer's new location on Kielerstrasse feels fresh and clean, with rooms in different sizes. Our spacious room for four came with a table, large flatscreen TV, fridge, and lockers, all included at no extra cost.
