Bellevue

I stopped by for coffee on the terrace and left disappointed. For a five star hotel, getting a cappuccino from a vending machine is a letdown. Please get a proper machine and hire a barista. The service, though, was really nice and kept this from being a one star experience.

The staff were terrible, and the bathroom smelled really bad.

The room could use a water boiler, and checking out at 11:00 felt too early and made leaving more stressful. I booked the best room, a suite, paid 1000 euro for 3 nights, and was still charged €2 for basic single-use plastic slippers. That felt petty and cheap, and made the hotel seem cost-cutting. Service was professional, consistent, and clearly delivered by well-trained staff, but it also felt scripted and robotic, with little warmth or flexibility. The management style came across as rigid too. Bellevue in Timmendorfer Strand was very clean and well organized, and the place felt efficiently run. Breakfast was genuinely good, with plenty of variety and quality that met expectations. The hotel may suit older guests who like structure and predictability better. Families or anyone wanting a warmer, more flexible atmosphere may not find it the best fit.

The room we booked was too small, but the woman at reception took one look, smiled, and upgraded us to the 5th floor with a sea view. We were like lovebirds in a movie, completely smitten with the room. She showed more heart, attentiveness, and style than reception staff at many a 5-star hotel. The hotel is right on the beach, with everything in walking distance. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, salmon, and everything you need to start the day like royalty. There’s a pool too, though we didn’t use it because of surgery. Even just seeing the atmosphere, it felt perfect. Who gave Hotel Bellevue Timmendorfer Strand its 3 stars? They clearly hadn’t been on the 5th floor with a sea view. For a relaxing weekend, the place was spot on, small, elegant, and well located, with a reception worth being loyal to.
