We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we came back. The same person at reception greeted us warmly and remembered us, and we were happy to find a welcome back card in the room. Everything was just as perfect as before: a spacious, clean room, a comfortable mattress and pillow, and friendly staff everywhere. Already looking forward to next year!

The friendly service, clean rooms, good shower and included breakfast were positives, but for the price the place felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The new building seemed unfinished, with bare concrete in the hallway and an unwelcoming feel. I also walked past a broken water tap. The room decor was cheap and uninviting, with a concrete floor, no tissues and a water pipe directly above the bed. There’s no air conditioning or fridge. We should have checked, but at that price we hadn’t thought we needed to. Without AC, we left the blind up overnight hoping for a breeze, but the hotel’s exterior lights kept the balcony fully lit and made it hard to sleep. Hopefully they use solar power, since they say they’re environmentally conscious. The pillows made sleeping harder too. We asked for different ones, but within an hour they’d turned into clumps of cotton, and neck pain felt guaranteed. There’s hardly any airflow in the rooms, and the air freshener used by housekeeping made that worse.

The staff were welcoming and always ready to help with questions or requests, and I particularly enjoyed the spa facilities. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel restaurant served absolutely delicious food. It’s close to the train station but surprisingly quiet at night. Lake Titisee and the popular Badeparadies thermal baths are both an easy walk away, so it’s a convenient base for exploring.

We had a lovely holiday stay, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. The rooms were nice and clean, and the small spa area was just right for a couple of relaxing hours. Lake titisee and Palmenparadies are walkable, and the train station is literally 0 minutes away, which is perfect if you arrive by public transport. The food was delicious, from the Christmas Eve menu to the à la carte choices, and the drinks were great too. I especially recommend their red house wine. A big thank you to Edin for the drink suggestions and service, both were beyond what we expected!
