The cafe was dreadful. You serve yourself but pay five-star prices, the staff are miserable, and the coffee was the worst I've ever tasted. The cakes look nice, but they're just mass-produced rubbish.

Everyone at Cafe Heck treated me like an old friend during my two-night stay. They're genuinely lovely, welcoming people. The rooms were modern and large, the Wi-Fi was good, and breakfast was superb. It's only a 30-second walk from the lake. I highly recommend Cafe Heck if you're visiting Lake Titisee.

It's an easy place to spot on the way to and from the lake, and a nice spot to relax after a walk there. The setting is comfortable and the staff are friendly. I was surprised and glad they understood my English without any hassle. That made the whole experience much better than at a restaurant where I spent half the day trying to explain myself.

The cake was frozen. Absolutely disappointing, and not worth paying almost five euros for a supermarket slice.
