Hotel Lafette

We booked a room by phone at the last minute that evening, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The building and rooms are very new and clean. Breakfast was wonderful: fresh coffee, eggs cooked to order, cold cuts, yoghurt and muesli. The highway is close, but with the window shut you can barely hear it. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The guesthouse is new and lovely, with comfortable beds and rooms that stay warm; you can adjust the temperature to suit yourself. Breakfast was included in the price and used high-quality products. The selection wasn't huge, but there was enough for a good start to the day. We stayed one night for the Christmas Market in the Ravenna Gorge, and the location worked well by car, both for the market and places like Titisee. Sadly, the restaurant was closed, but there are plenty of places to eat in nearby Hinterzarten. There's also a pleasant walking path close by for enjoying the outdoors. We'd definitely come back.

I found a nice route through the woods to the station in the morning, though the hotel is a bit far from Hinterzarten. My room was adequate for one person, and I had a nice stay. Food choices around this very small town are limited, but the chef made me some good dishes.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and getting to the hotel was easy. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable, though the newly opened or renovated Gasthof still had some construction work going on. Check the closet for larger pillows. It also looks like it could be a great place for parties.
