We got around on foot and didn't have a car or bikes. The center and train station are about a 15-minute walk away. From the small group of houses nearby, the main walking and biking route leads to Hinterzarten. The same path makes a lovely 15-minute walk through the woods to Titisee lake, then continues onto the landscaped lakeside walk and the clean, well-kept beach, which is great for families. Walking to Hinterzarten is pleasant too, about 40 minutes, and there are several lovely restaurants and cafes there. Buses and trains around the area were plentiful, efficient, and mostly on time. For self-catering without a car, plan ahead: Titisee has no small convenience store or regular supermarket. Hinterzarten and Titisee Neustast have grocery stores with everything you need. There's a shop in the center with local delicacies and basic groceries at premium prices, plus a small fruit and veg stall nearby. The Edeka marked on the map in Titisee is a cash and carry, so don't be misled by that. We also enjoyed the balcony view of the hills. The apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable, and had everything for a week of self-catering, including a full oven and hobs, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, Nespresso and filter coffee machines, and satellite TV in both the living room and bedroom if you need it. It was relatively quiet, especially at night. The main road is not far behind the building, but the noise was negligible and didn't bother us. Booking was smooth and friendly. They answered our follow-up questions in detail and positively, and kindly offered to pick us up from the train station.

It was our first visit, and everything matched the description. We asked what kind of coffee machine was there, and the owner let us know. The garage was a fantastic extra, and the town is only a short walk away. We didn't find the nearby road bothersome. We really liked the apartment and will recommend it.

We stayed for 11 days and found the rental just as it had been shown online, so there was no need for me to post pictures. Everything we needed was in good condition, and the apartment stayed very warm even without the heating on. The beds were comfortable and I slept well, though I didn't care much for the sofa because it felt uncomfortable. The south-facing balcony slopes gently to the left, which took some getting used to. The town is easy to reach on foot, and the Black Forest Card and Konus Card are handy for day trips. Overall, nothing was wrong with the apartment.

Bring rolls for breakfast the night before, unless you want to drive in the morning. You can also buy them right by the lake or at the train station. There’s a large supermarket in Titisee-Neustadt. The water park by Titisee is a good option when the weather is poor, but booking online ahead is advisable since rates vary by day and time. We enjoyed several outings nearby, especially Donaueschingen, made easier with the free ticket. The brewery there is a nice place for good food and a fine beer. The booking went smoothly, and the communication was friendly. The apartment was spotless and in excellent, practically new condition, with furnishings exactly as pictured and everything we could want. It has a flat-screen TV and internet. The private garage and free public transport ticket were especially useful, and the lake is about ten minutes away.

The hostess was organized, helpful, and wonderfully welcoming. We found the lockable garage especially useful for storing our bikes. The apartment was spacious and well equipped, even with a small stereo, and we cooked there once. The south-facing front, with its roomy balcony, looks toward residential buildings and is naturally quiet. My partner said they had rarely slept so well. On the north side at the back, the apartment is quite near the B500 highway, and you can clearly hear it through the kitchen and bathroom windows. That does make road access excellent. One small suggestion: please replace the damaged plates with intact ceramic ones.
