The food was great, and the hotel sits in a beautiful location. Rooms are spacious and practical, though the decor is a little outdated. Breakfast was fantastic, and parking is available.

Roger and Bernadette made us feel like family. Bernadette is a fantastic chef, so I’d highly recommend reserving dinner. Both of her menus were out of this world, and Roger’s wine knowledge paired my meal with an unforgettable Rioja. I’ll be searching for a twin of that bottle. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choices: muesli with yogurt and berries, eggs made to order, meats, cheeses, breads, and lovely local apple juices. Our room was clean and tidy, with modern conveniences and a wonderful bathroom overlooking the Black Forest. We had a wonderful stay in the Schwarzwald and look forward to returning for nearby hikes.

The evening meal comes from just one menu, FYI, but it’s really delicious. The food was great, the rooms were cosy and nice, and the service was genuinely friendly.
