Haus Monika

I spent two and a half weeks at Haus Monika and found it just right for me. The hosts were nice and friendly, and the accommodation was very clean and well looked after. I especially appreciated that they put the heating on during cold evenings and even on the one rainy day. I've often stayed by the North Sea, where July or August can still be chilly, and even after paying more than twice as much for apartments there, the rooms stayed cold.

The hosts are nice, but that's not enough to make this a place I can recommend. The furniture is badly dated, and the apartment kitchenette looks like it belongs in 1970. The dishes are a mismatched assortment. A unit in the basement is being renovated right now, so there was construction noise instead of peace and quiet.

Out of the three places we booked during our stay, Haus Monika was easily the best. We had apartment number 5 for a few days, and it was spotless, great value, and so nicely furnished that my husband and I were both thrilled. There's no need to choose a hotel with breakfast if you stay here. The owners gave us a really warm welcome and were lovely and helpful. The apartment had a fresh, modern feel, a lovely bathroom, a small kitchenette, and pretty much everything needed for a few days in Todtmoos. I wholeheartedly recommend it. The Lüthy family are incredibly friendly and discreet. Their apartment was modern, comfortable, and had all we needed, with nothing to complain about. It met all our expectations, and we had a wonderful holiday. Thanks again to the Lüthy family.
