It’s a comfortable stay with everything you need, even though this certainly isn’t a brand new five-star hotel. The hotel is also conveniently close to the train station.

6/10
For an overnight stay, this is a reasonably priced choice right in central Traunstein, and the train station is an easy walk away. The single room was small but fine for sleeping, and the bathroom was okay, with a tub and shower combination. There’s no elevator, as the listing says, so you’ll need to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. Reception is staffed only at certain times, and a little before arrival you may get a message with a PIN for the key box, so keep an eye on your inbox. Breakfast was decent, with rolls, packaged cold cuts and cheese, a few cereals, and good coffee. There weren’t any hot options.

The people here were kind and available, but the rooms looked plain and dated, and they weren’t very clean anymore. We stayed one night and had three rooms, one double and two single rooms, all much the same. After 7pm there’s no reception, and the room keys also open the entrance door.

The rooms and service feel very outdated. The mattresses and pillows really need replacing.

The place is a bit old, and the bathroom wasn’t really clean.
