We had a lovely apartment with a living room, bedroom, kitchen and shower room, plus a small balcony facing the courtyard. The kitchen had everything needed, and the landlord was easy to reach. It’s right downtown, a short walk from the train station and pedestrian zone. We hadn’t realized beforehand that there’s no free parking anywhere.

It’s a useful base for exploring the area, with shops, restaurants and the city center nearby. The train station is close too, with Cologne-Bonn Airport about 15 minutes away by train and Cologne Main Station around 40 minutes. The host was nice, communicative and helpful, and the apartment was well equipped for four people across two rooms. The drawbacks: it’s on the first floor up a steep staircase. In summer, traffic makes the street-facing room noisy if you leave the window open. The shower cabin is spacious but could really use renovation, and the lighting would be better with more lamps and stronger bulbs.

Everything is new, and you can still tell it was renovated recently. The owners are extremely friendly. Check-in was set for 5 p.m., but we arrived at 2 and were able to check in without any problems.
