Hotel Das Kronprinz

The room on the fifth floor had air conditioning and lovely views, and the bed was so comfortable. The pillows were the best I’ve had in Germany, though watch your head if you’re on the top floor. There was a large bathroom with a great shower, a useful kettle, and a TV that tilted for easy viewing. It’s a lovely hotel just a few minutes from the station, with plenty of trains to Köln and easy booking through the DB app. I’d recommend it if you want to be outside the city but still within easy reach, especially for the conference centre.

The staff made this stay memorable. They were genuine, kind, and welcoming, including the gentleman at check-in, who was pleasant and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the family room spacious, and the whole place clean. It seems to be an older building that’s been nicely remodeled inside, nothing fancy but not outdated either. Breakfast was delicious, though the bathroom in the family room was a bit small but functional. There are bus and train tracks across the street, and they provided earplugs, but city traffic didn’t bother us. We could hear people at the bus stop in the evening, then it got quiet later, with only the occasional train. Public transport is just across the street, and the hotel is a good distance from both Bonn and Cologne. There’s plenty of street parking and some decent restaurants nearby, including an affordable pizza place two minutes away. We travel often and remember places with great hospitality more than ones that look modern, and this is one of those hotels. Thank you.

For a three-star hotel at this price, it was a great stay. The airport connection is excellent, just three S-Bahn stops. There was a kettle in the room, sweets on the pillowcase, and earplugs, though I didn’t need them with the window closed. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced, and the staff were very friendly. Great for a business trip. I’ll book again!

We stayed eight nights during Euro 24, and the staff made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was amazing, and our rooms were quiet, comfortable, and air conditioned. The hotel is almost opposite the station and a five-minute walk from the town centre. Its location made it easy to get around by train, while being far enough from Cologne to have some peace during the Euros. We were lucky to find it, and if any of us are back in the area, we’ll absolutely return. Highly recommend.
