The food was great and the service friendly. The 'king' burger was tasty and absolutely huge!

Great beer and a great spot. Definitely worth stopping by on the way to Freiburg.

We went in hoping for a simple sausage meal, but they had none, even though sausages were listed on the menu as a traditional Black Forest dish. Several other things we wanted weren’t available either, so we ended up ordering porcini ravioli and pork schnitzel with French fries. The fries came without salt, and the schnitzel was hard, dry, and tasteless. The ravioli were dry and stodgy too, with grated cheese I couldn’t identify, certainly not Italian. A simple butter and sage sauce would have been tasty, but the cook didn’t seem to know how to prepare even basic dishes. It wasn’t a cheap dinner, either. One of the most disastrous food experiences I’ve had in ages.

For a road trip through the area, this recently renovated guest house is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very modern, and for the price and quality it may be the best choice around here. In the restaurant, the staff are attentive and speak excellent German and English. There’s also a great range of vegetarian options on the menu, including a yummy jackfruit burger.
