We had a lovely stay at "Zum Backhaus," and the hostess was friendly, helpful, and easy to reach whenever we needed her. Üdersdorf is central for hikes and attractions, many of them about a 30-50 minute drive away. Two trails, the Water and Rock Trail and the Three Villages Loop, pass right by the bakehouse, and each takes around 4-5 hours to complete comfortably. The old barn has been thoughtfully converted into a bright holiday home for up to four people. There are several terraces, so you can have breakfast in the morning sun or relax and eat outside in the evening. Inside, the dining area has a large table for six. The kitchen is a few steps up and well equipped, with a large fridge, dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, and everything else we needed. A staircase leads to the bathroom, which has a shower, bathtub, and a street-facing window with a roller blind for privacy. The double bedroom is on that floor too. A few more steps take you to the living area, with a flat-screen TV and comfortable sofa. There’s also a second sleeping area accessed by ladder, which can be attached if needed. The house is right by the road, and traffic was quite noticeable on some days. There are no shops for everyday necessities in Üdersdorf, so you have to go to Daun. We’d happily come back.
