Gasthof Berghof

I had visitors over for lunch because I wasn’t asked to leave the room until 2 pm. The location was quiet, the room lovely, and the hostess very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The one downside was that they only accepted cash.

The panoramic views and peaceful setting made for a genuinely relaxing stay. The place was welcoming, clean, and well equipped for a short visit. Breakfast was fine for the room price. The only drawback was that they spoke only German.

The accommodation itself is nice, and the bathroom was spotless, but there were cobwebs in the rooms that should have been cleaned away. Orange juice was said to be included with breakfast, yet it was charged separately. You can book through Booking.com, but payment at the property is cash only, with no cards accepted.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and pleasant. But it’s an old hotel with dated furnishings, and hot meals are served in the evening only once a week. Take care if booking through Booking.com: the online prices didn’t match what the hotel quoted. The advertised room rate was per person, while the price quoted at the hotel was for one person. Booking.com didn’t respond at all.
