Waldhotel Felschbachhof

I ate at their restaurant during my seminar. The food was top notch, really excellent.

I’m mainly reviewing the restaurant here, though the rooms are large, have full amenities, and are reasonably priced. The menu has a nice variety, and they take pride in using organic ingredients. The restaurant itself feels very nice, with cloth coverings and napkins on the tables, plus candlelight. For my starter I had the cream of mushroom soup. It was so smooth and silky, and full of flavor. The venison sausage for my main came with a really flavorful glaze. The server said it was made from deer from the nearby woods. It was firm and didn’t taste gamy at all, with sautéed onions and fried potatoes on the side. I also had a side salad with vinaigrette. I can’t wait to find out what breakfast is like tomorrow. We stayed for just one night, and it was really good. The room and bathroom were clean, the beds were good, and there was a soap dispenser in the shower. The hotel is in beautiful surroundings. Dinner was excellent. The restaurant was already full when we arrived, which gave us a hint that the food might be good, and it was. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d stay here again if I’m in the neighborhood.

A great mountain hotel, and the breakfast is organic. You should definitely try the milk, it’s delicious. The service was great too, with happy people.
