Hotel Heuboden

The Wi-Fi was patchy, but it didn’t bother us much. We got a perfect apartment on the top floor for a very reasonable price, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly too, especially Michel, who greeted us. Nice bloke.

Our room and bathroom were nice and spacious, and the staff were polite and helpful. There’s free Wi-Fi, though the TV won’t work with Chrome cast. Parking is available beside the hotel, along the street, or across the road, and there’s a bus stop right outside. It’s a basic hotel with basic facilities. In summer the rooms can get very warm, with no air conditioning or mechanical ventilation.

I came earlier than my girlfriend and security kept me waiting outside. He said I couldn’t come in unless I was accompanied. That really upset me, especially since other white men on their own were being let in.

At club heuboden in Umkrich, there are three different dance spaces. The basement gets packed with younger people and music, while the first floor has a terrace overlooking the ground floor. Off to the left on the first floor is a ballroom where older couples gather. There are two smoking areas with bars. Drinks are overpriced, though, but it is a club. Friday and Saturday are party nights, and Saturday gets especially crowded. The crowd starts coming in at 11 pm, entry is free before 10 pm, and the club is closed on Sunday.
