The food was a highlight for us. Every dinner was outstanding, and you could tell the chef took real pride in the dishes. We stayed at Landrefugium Obermüller with friends and were impressed by the whole experience. The location is beautiful, with peaceful nature as well as access to hikes, cycling and trips to neighbouring areas. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and everyone was warm and attentive. The amenities were excellent, and the wellness facilities made it easy to relax. We had a wonderful time and made memories we'll cherish. I hope we can return someday. This hotel is a real gem in the Bayerischer Wald.

The sauna and pool were just what we needed to unwind after the long drive. We had a wonderful stay in a lovely countryside location, with a great room and bed, and very enjoyable dinner and breakfast. One thing to know: almost nobody speaks English, and nothing is written in English either. That wasn't really a problem, but it did lead me to take water from a tap that turned out to be boiled water. 😂🤣

The owners made the evening feel personal, and the service was impeccable throughout. At 10 PM, hotel rules meant we had to leave the terrace early and move to a rather overheated bar, but it didn't take much away from an enjoyable night. For the quality, the prices felt like genuinely good value. We were visiting Landrefugium Obermüller for dinner, even though it's usually for overnight guests, and the management kindly welcomed us as diners. The meal started with a creative take on Presssack, followed by carrot-ginger soup with a lovely balance of sweetness and ginger. The chicken breast schnitzel was so tender it almost fell apart under the fork, and the fresh fries were much crunchier than frozen ones. There was also a colorful salad bar. Dessert was a little too dry despite the sauce, while my wife's cheese platter was excellent, with international cheeses, artisanal bread and a sublime fig mustard. The sommelier's lively Riesling went very well with the meal. It felt like a lucky culinary find, and we'd go again, perhaps staying overnight next time to enjoy the hotel as well.

We expected better service, and that was disappointing. We booked through Eurotours and ran into a lot of miscommunication. Some staff were fine, but a few were quite unfriendly, and don't expect them to go out of their way to handle requests. The wellness area was really nice, and the food was very good. The gym was a bit dirty, and the machines didn't seem to get cleaned.

We had a very pleasant stay at hotel Obermueller when we visited Untergriesbach at the end of April. Dinner was mouthwatering, and the room was nice with acceptable cleaning. We didn't use the SPA and Wellness center, so can't comment on it. A small fridge in every room would be a good addition.
