Hotel Müller Café & Wein . Mondholzhotel

I found this hotel nearby because we often land at Würzburg Airfield for work, but the experience was only so-so. The receptionist was friendly and informative, check-in was quick, and the location in the town center made it easy to find somewhere else for dinner when the restaurant was fully booked. Breakfast had a better selection than most hotels I stay at for work. The rooms were noisy, and I could hear people talking loudly in the corridor. At 5 am I was woken by what sounded like someone cleaning, with something metallic hitting the wall corners in a systematic way. I also need the full, correct name and address on my work invoice. The emailed one had them wrong, and it took several days to get a reply with the correction. It still isn’t completely accurate, but at least it’s acceptable now.

We had a lovely four-night stay in the new rooms. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was nice. We also had a large luncheon with ten more people than planned, and the chef accommodated us. Staff were short, as seems to happen at hotels everywhere, but they stayed friendly and efficient. It’s easy to walk to the river and around town. Thanks to the hotel and restaurant team. We look forward to staying again.

The waiter brings the food to your table, but it’s basically cafeteria-style. I had chicken and mushroom risotto. The chicken seemed precooked and left sitting in a hot pan until someone ordered it. It was almost mush, though edible with the risotto. My husband had pork with radish and dumpling and said it was fine. Service was fine.

Veitshöchheim has a beautiful Rokokogarten and an impressive palace. I stayed here for one night while traveling to Austria. The hotel was very nice, the rooms were clean, the beds were nice, and breakfast had a huge selection.
