We had no complaints about breakfast, and the service was really friendly. The furnishings are good, in the usual youth hostel style. It’s right by the forest, which makes it easy to explore the nearby rocks and Petershöhle cave.

The beds were pleasantly firm, and there’s a good fresh salad bar. Breakfast was very good too. Lunch and dinner leaned heavily on industrially produced food rather than fresh ingredients. I’d have preferred less meat, but better quality.

You can set off hiking straight from the hostel, and the kids could play outside without immediate danger from cars. We stayed as a family for a week while attending a training course, and the location is lovely. Our room was basic. Some rooms have only a sink, with the shower and toilet in the hallway. The food was very good, with fresh fruit and vegetables at breakfast and a four-course dinner of salad, soup, main course and dessert. They use very little pre-prepared food and cook fresh. They also accommodate allergies and are happy to prepare a separate meal. We’d recommend this youth hostel.

Wi-Fi is available, and there are a few leisure activities in a quiet, pleasant location. We had a lovely stay with the children. The rooms were a good size. The beds weren’t especially comfortable, though still pleasant enough, at least for young people. The food was good too. Definitely recommended.
