We’ve booked the modern holiday homes here twice now. They’re roomy, and some sleep as many as seven, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a big living and dining area, and a terrace with a barbecue. One bathroom has a tub and the other a shower. It’s a peaceful spot right by Lake Kummerow, with the beach only a short walk away. The scenery is lovely for walks, cycling, fishing, or boat trips. Wi-Fi is weak, though, and you’ll usually need a car for shops, restaurants, and other amenities. The restaurant and little shop aren’t always open either. There’s also the “Aalbude” (eel shack) by the small harbor, which you reach by ferry.

I was really impressed by how well set up it is for children. There’s room for a baby cot, plus a stair gate and highchair, and child locks on both the washing machine and dishwasher.

The houses are cozy and very well equipped, though you can hear a lot between them. It’s a really quiet setting, with a little beach right outside, canoe rental on site, and a small restaurant. You’ll need a car to go on excursions.

The house was very spacious, and the staff were so accommodating. The children especially liked the playground, and we could set off on lovely bike rides around the lake. Bikes and other equipment are available to rent on site. The furnishings felt dated and a little neglected, and the beds really needed replacing. My wife also found it hard to sleep because the bedrooms couldn’t be properly darkened. Even with the rain, we had a lovely week at this very nice complex by the lake.

We come here for day trips, so I can’t say anything about the overnight accommodation. For a day out, it’s very nice, with playgrounds for little children and a volleyball court for adults. It’s especially worth visiting in summer, when the café and kiosk are open. Parking costs extra.
