Hotel-Pension Märkischheide

The rooms could use some renovation, especially the bathrooms. Still, the food was a highlight, and so was the bowling alley and the friendly service.

We felt very at home here and would happily recommend the hotel. We ate at the restaurant most evenings, and both the chef and the service were excellent. The bowling alley was fun too. Our room was adequate, breakfast was perfectly fine, and the friendly reception team dealt with our requests quickly. It was our first visit to the Spreewald, and we really enjoyed the hotel. They even went to the trouble of sending our forgotten bicycle battery back to us.

The hotel's restaurant was a real treat, with hearty food at fair prices, and we also enjoyed warming up in the sauna. Our two rooms, Nos. 1 and 2, were in the annex, quiet, clean, and functionally furnished. The beds were comfortable and a good size, and breakfast was excellent. Our dog was made very welcome and settled right in. The hotel is peaceful, with shops and restaurants nearby, and the family-run atmosphere is lovely. The only thing we'd suggest is adding fly screens to the windows, since there were mosquitoes. We plan to return. The price is excellent for what you get.

We had a good stay, even during the hottest weekend we'd had in a long time. The rooms were clean and good, and there's a refrigerator upstairs. Breakfast was very good, with delicious pickled cucumbers provided by the owners. Just around the corner, the restaurant/pub serves tasty home-style food at a great price, highly recommended for dinner. Excellent value for money.
