The WiFi was terrible. Otherwise, it's an average place and fine for a night or two.

The whole team deserves a thank you. We had a lovely evening, with excellent food and service.

Really good food and a great menu, served by friendly staff. A very nice restaurant, highly recommended.

The main courses were the biggest letdown for me. I'm not criticizing their quality or taste, but the fish was already cooked far too much and got even worse sitting in the warming trays. If they're reheating it at the time, you might be able to avoid it being completely overcooked. The fish buffet costs €34 per person, and the other buffets are €20-€28. I give it 3 stars. We came for the fish buffet, held in a hall where the tables are already set. The ambiance isn't for me, though that's a matter of taste, so have a look at the pictures. The appetizers were mostly good, but a few felt too simple to me. Jellied fish at a buffet? The fish terrines didn't impress me, and neither did the sushi, which had too much rice. The oysters were gone in under 30 minutes, and none were brought out afterward. That's a shame for people who booked a later table. There's too much to list here, but I photographed and uploaded it all. Desserts were okay and set up in the little side room. Getting back to the main dining room is awkward: it's too cramped to go through, especially if someone's right behind you, so you have to exit the other way into the bar area and walk past the bar to return. Service was mixed too. Some staff were incredibly friendly, quick, and articulate, while others were nearly the opposite. Clearing empty plates was inconsistent, sometimes done perfectly and sometimes not at all. Schlemmerhof Schmalzl sounds Bavarian, so you'd expect traditional food. I was surprised to see themed buffets and cooking classes offered regularly, including Italian/Mediterranean, Asian/Thai, fish, chocolate, and confectionery. The buffets and classes are often crowded or fully booked.
