Hotel Turmdieb

A good place.

We’ve been here before, but after today’s café visit we definitely won’t return and can’t recommend it. We had reserved breakfast for three. The server greeted us rudely and said there was no reservation or table, without properly checking. We later confirmed with the hotel that our booking was there. After we repeatedly mentioned the reservation, they reluctantly seated us at a tiny round table, perhaps 60 cm across, set up for two. A third chair was squeezed in even though there was clearly no room for three people, especially by a breakfast buffet, and it sat right in the aisle to the buffet. When we said this wasn’t acceptable, the server answered snidely and disrespectfully, telling us to join other guests at their table. That was unprofessional and unfair to those guests. We were willing to put up with the cramped table, but before we could sit down, the server spoke to us rudely and condescendingly again. We were told not to complain because the tables were reserved for hotel guests and nothing could be done, and that we had no right to a table. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled showed no service, friendliness, or professionalism. The treatment was completely unacceptable.

The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and we felt completely at ease. We had a delicious Easter breakfast at Hotel Turmdieb, with a large and varied buffet. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they also offered us a glass of sparkling wine. We’d gladly come back.

We decided on the spur of the moment to have breakfast here, and the buffet was fantastic. The fresh homemade spreads were beautifully presented, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!
