Hotel Zur Schwane

The family’s cellar under the hotel made for a memorable Saturday evening, with a wine tasting that was both fun and really informative. We enjoyed their Franken wines from the family vineyards, along with the restaurant, warm welcome and hospitality. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, and we stayed in one of the lovely new rooms. I was last here 20 years ago, and the welcome was just as warm as I remembered. We had a lovely couple of nights at Zur Schwane last weekend. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back!

The parking is very limited, as the restaurant sits in the pedestrian area in the city center, and you really need to reserve a table. Inside, there are several dining spaces, private rooms, a partly covered patio and the old bottling room. The attentive service is flexible, and the three to five course menus with their wine pairings are outstanding. The cuisine is excellent, especially with the elegant regional Franconian wines.

Breakfast in the courtyard was a highlight, and the accommodation itself is pretty and comfortable. It’s quiet and romantic. The staff are helpful and welcoming, with a real family feel, and they personally showed us to our room. They also gave excellent service when we asked for tea. I’d gladly stay here again!

Good food in a lovely little wine village. The hotel is right in the center and close to the highway.
