The room was spacious and had a beautiful view, but the equipment was basic and modest. No kettle, much choice of soaps, or shower accessories, and they didn't have a heater when we asked to warm the room a little at night. We also waited 10 minutes for scrambled eggs because staff hadn't noticed they were gone. Breakfast was poor and not carefully prepared. The hotel charges a very high rate for very basic services, so I really wouldn't recommend it.

There's not much to see inside the castle itself, though the staff are friendly and their English is adequate. The rooms are very nice, even if they aren't quite as castle-like as I'd pictured. Close the curtains and it feels like any other nice hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a view that's hard to beat, and it set an unfairly high bar for every hotel I've visited since.

I just got here and I'm already so excited! The views are amazing, and the room is nice, with a fridge, which is rare in Europe, plus a wonderful bathroom. I spotted an elevator ad for a free massage, so I booked one. I'll find out more tomorrow. Now I'm getting ready for dinner!

Once you pass through the gateway, you come to the main square and then the terrace, with its spectacular view. The castle is very well maintained and has a hotel and restaurant inside. Parking for the car is charged, but entry to the castle is free.
