Hotel Lamm Stuttgart Waldenbuch

The rooms at Gasthaus Lamm were extremely clean, including the bathrooms, and ours had a full bathroom with a tub, sink, and toilet. It was plain by US standards, but the simplicity, cost, and cleanliness were hard to beat. We also had a nice flat screen TV with cable. There may have been wifi, but we didn’t have the password, so ask if you need it. We enjoyed a night without being connected. Breakfast was stunning, especially the delicious Marizpan & poppy seed yogurt. Our hostess was warm and sweet, let us in around 15:30, and even complimented my German. I hope to return to Waldenbuch and would book Gasthaus Lamm again. Waldenbuch is a cute, quaint town with quite a few restaurants. It’s easy to reach from Stuttgart by S-Bahn and then bus, and the bus routes were easy to figure out, with very clear signs. I wish we had service like that around us in the US. Just be aware that Monday is the town’s quiet day and no restaurants are open. That’s why we took the bus to Tübingen for dinner at Gasthaus Bären, which was worth the trip to Germany alone. The Ritter Sport factory is a short walk from Gasthaus Lamm. Its museum is closed Monday, but the cafe and choco shop are open. If you don’t have a phone that works in Germany, you may need to ask a local shop to call the hostess if you arrive before 15:00.
