Lindenhof Waldheim

This feels like an adventure hostel from the GDR, almost a trip back in time, so don't arrive with high expectations. I stayed two nights and would definitely book again. If all you need is a bed and a shower, it works well, and the price is absolutely fine. There isn't a reception. After two or three calls, the property manager who lives upstairs came down and greeted me very warmly. Her German was broken, but gestures got us through. The amenities are basic but functional. My bed, duvet, and pillow were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and had towels, and some rooms have had their bathroom and other infrastructure made usable through renovation. Heating comes from an electric heater, which was adequate, and the showers were hot. The room and bathroom were generally clean, though I did have one or two unwanted roommates, a spider.
