That crispy duck leg was so good, especially with the red cabbage and tasty kale on the side. The chef clearly knows what they're doing, and the service was very friendly. The menu has loads to choose from, with German dishes ranging from pike-perch fillet to homestyle classics, plus chicken broth. It's excellent value, and I'm definitely going to visit this restaurant more often.

The service was attentive, but that's about where the good news ends. We had a reservation and two children with us, and it still took 1 hour and 40 minutes for the food to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't especially busy. Three dishes were missing. They came 25 minutes later, after everyone else had already finished. The food was all very dry, either served without sauce or, for the Königsberger Klopse, with gravy that was extremely thick. At home we also found that only two of the three "leftovers" had been packed. The tablecloths had iron-on patches, which I can accept, though I didn't think it looked good. It used to be very good, but now, in Feb 2026, I'd go somewhere else. Reading this back, it sounds harsh, but it's what happened. I can't recommend the place right now.

The Zeesen Inn hosted our large family gathering for an 80th birthday in mid-November, and the guest rooms weren't used. The buffet of classic German homestyle food was delicious for me and the other guests. The large hall had been decorated beautifully to match our wishes, and the very friendly, attentive staff took care of everyone all afternoon so we could enjoy ourselves. On behalf of the hosts, thank you for such a pleasant afternoon. We'd highly recommend the venue for celebrations.
