The hotel rooms were superb, and two Asian waitresses were very kind. But I don't understand the hotel's policy around food. The restaurant stays open until 22:30, yet the kitchen closes at 21:00, so after that you can only get drinks, not even a small snack like chips or nuts. The fridge at reception and the minibar have wine and non-alcoholic drinks, but nothing to eat. The wine list is all very local. I can see focusing on local wines, just not having them make up 100% of the list. The kitchen is also closed through the afternoon, so if you check in at 3pm, there's nothing to eat until dinner. The schnitzel was probably the worst Wiener schnitzel I've ever had, soaked in fat and almost inedible. It seems like offering a few small things to eat at reception, in the restaurant, or in the minibar would be an easy way to earn extra money and encourage guests to have more drinks in the evening.

In summer, sitting out on the terrace feels like being on holiday, and there are lovely rooms too. It's one of the nicer restaurants in Ihringen, with well-made dishes and a chance to try local wines. #spontago

We held a corporate retreat at this modern hotel in Ihringen. The meeting room worked great, and lunch in the restaurant always offered an interesting selection. Everything was super clean, and we had a very enjoyable time.

Some of the staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was good. For a four-star hotel, it's not bad. If you're visiting as a tourist, though, the staff don't know much about the area around the hotel.
