Hotel am Liepnitzsee

The lake connection is nice, but there are no shops or other restaurants within walking distance. The room had been cleaned well, but there was no fridge or AC. The curtains were so thin they didn’t darken the room at all, which was hard in summer when it’s bright from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m. The bed was old and squeaky, and the huge pillows felt like they were full of nothing. The restaurant menu was uninteresting and unseasoned, and both of us got stomachaches. We booked for two adults and an infant, but were put on the top floor with no elevator. There weren’t activities for children, and the pencils and paper for the restaurant weren’t offered to us, though I saw them passing by the bar. Same with the high chair. The service was about what I’d expect from German hospitality.

I won’t say anything about the room. I’m very, very sorry about what happened there, and the owners already know what we experienced. Everyone seems to think it’s normal to share a room with “other guests,” but next time I’d rather relax and sleep somewhere I don’t have to make those “guests” leave. We love the people who work there, and the food is so, so great. The restaurant is beautiful too. We’ll return, but we’ll never choose a room again.

The waiters and waitresses were friendly and nice, and the food was remarkably good. I’d especially recommend it to people who like good meat.
