I was passing through on my way to a job in Austria. The room felt a little dated, but it was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge selection and everything fresh. I didn’t get the chance to try the pool.

The only reason I’m giving this four stars is that I requested a room with a bath through booking.com. The hotel information made that seem possible, but we didn’t get one and nobody replied to let me know. Otherwise, it’s a lovely hotel for exploring the Allgau region, in a quiet, convenient spot. It looks old-fashioned from outside, while our room was modern and clean, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was a great start to the day: lots of bread, teas, fruit, meats, cheeses, plus vegan margarine and lactose-free milk that worked perfectly in my coffee. We also enjoyed the pool and sauna. The pool is on the small side, but we had it to ourselves both evening and morning. It opens at 7 and the sauna at 9. The staff were kind and polite, and zum brennerwirt nearby was one of the best places we ate during the trip, just as the hotel recommended.

In the last five years, this is the best family-run hotel in Europe that I’ve come across. It felt welcoming, with clean, new, stylish rooms and friendly people. I’d definitely recommend it.

We had such a good time here. It’s warm, cozy, and lovely with kids. Everything was absolutely clean, the staff were friendly, and the pool facilities were good. I’d recommend it.
