We’re really pleased with the service, and the apartment itself has nothing to fault. It’s spacious, attractive, and thoughtfully decorated, with useful details throughout. Getting around the whole building is easy with a wheelchair, walker, or stroller. Highly recommended!

The bathroom was roomy and otherwise great, and the apartment itself is chic, well equipped, and spacious. But apartment 3 is on the ground floor, and the bedroom faces the supermarkets, so there’s noise from early in the morning. Music from the garden’s entertainment program adds to it during the day. The listing called it a “quiet location” facing the rose garden, which didn’t match what we found. With no light-blocking curtains, people can see you changing, too. The mattresses were much too soft and may already be sagging. The balcony was okay, but its beach chair was poorly maintained and didn’t look inviting. An espresso machine would have suited us better than the filter coffee maker. We also missed salt and pepper shakers, an egg piercer, a dishwashing brush, a rack for drying wet clothes, and blankets. There was a strong urine smell by the bathroom toilet when we arrived, and it never went away. It needs a thorough clean, or perhaps the toilet needs replacing. The light by the bathroom mirror started flickering and humming loudly after a while. The towels were only bath towels and much too small. Two bicycles would have been helpful, as other apartments have them. The basement washer and dryer were okay, but expensive, and you have to get extra coins from the utility company.

We spent three weeks in August 2020 in apartment 11 at Haus Oldenburg. The terrace gets plenty of sun and is great for private sunbathing. There’s also a drinks fridge that isn’t shown in the pictures, and the elevator makes the place suitable for people with mobility impairments. Six people can have a wonderful, high-quality holiday here. It’s very central, with shops close by. There’s some noise to the north from the two supermarkets, though we didn’t find it bothersome. On the south side, within earshot of the park, it’s completely quiet. The furnishings are of an extremely high standard. The downside is the price. We booked in 2019 at very attractive rates, but prices have gone up 120% since then. Unfortunately, that seems common on Wangerooge.

We stayed in apartment 6, and unfortunately it wasn’t clean, which seems to happen so often. What exactly is the final cleaning fee for? The service from Wfv keeps getting worse. I know finding good staff is becoming harder, but with prices continually rising, you’d expect the service quality to improve too.
