Leaving the hotel felt like a real relief. They don’t seem to care about customers, though there are a few good points: the National Park is just behind the fence, and Waren’s center is a 20-minute walk away. There’s a nice route by the water: cross the street and head downhill before the modern houses. The annoying part was the extra costs and rules. Our booking didn’t say that yard parking was paid, and nobody told us when we arrived. Charging bicycle batteries in the room is prohibited, which is fair enough given how often hotel fires are linked to batteries. But you have to ask reception to charge one in a special place, at 1.25 € per day. Really? The cheapest room is 133€ a night.

We appreciated the accessible parking spaces, which connect directly to the hotel entrance by a ramp. The bicycles also have their own garage, locked at night. The whole hotel and the rooms were very clean. I slept on a very comfortable, hygienic hotel pillow for once, and could leave my own packed away in the suitcase. The rooms were fine for sleeping, and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast was very good, and the evening restaurant was excellent.

The restaurant was a real highlight for us. The food was delicious, with something to suit everyone, and the made-to-order omelet at breakfast was especially good. Breakfast itself was generous, too. Thanks to the two people who made that omelet for us! We spent six nights here and felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone on staff was warm and friendly, and the rooms were clean and perfectly adequate. The spa was spotless and lovely, and the massage was excellent 👍. Our bikes had a secure, dry place to stay overnight. They took care of everything we wanted. If we return to Waren, this would be our first choice. We highly recommend it, and hope the manager can keep this team together.
