Villa am Weinberg Waren

The garden and apartment were both so well cared for, and we had everything we needed. Wine and honey were waiting when we arrived, such a sweet welcome. We were sorry to leave when our holiday ended this morning. We'd love to return and see that friendly little cat again.

We had to cancel our booked stay this year because of the coronavirus crisis, and we're really disappointed about it. The hosts are thoughtful and do a lot to make guests feel cared for. The apartment is beautifully furnished, a lovely spot to relax and get fresh ideas, with everything you could want. We'll come back, and I'd give it another star if I could!

Waren has plenty to keep adults and kids busy, and the apartment is close to the center, harbor, shops, and public bathing area at Lake Müritz. Lake Tiefwaren is only a five-minute walk behind the house, with swimming and a lovely bike ride around it that takes about 30 minutes at an easy pace. The terrace felt private behind its bushes, and we enjoyed relaxing there and using the grill. The area is quiet despite being so central. We spent a week here as a family with little Freya, 11 months old. The ground-floor apartment stayed cool even in the sweltering heat, and it had everything we needed. The rooms are small but cozy, with nice furnishings and a high standard. Our hosts were pleasant to chat with when we happened to meet, while leaving us to enjoy our privacy otherwise. It was one of our best holidays. We'd return every year if there were another room. For a longer stay, or when our daughter is older and needs more room, it would be a bit cramped. For a couple, though, it's an ideal place to stay.

I came to Waren (Müritz) for a five-day business trip expecting somewhere functional, and found a little paradise instead. The apartment was beautiful, very well maintained, and had everything I needed, including the small things from my travel kit like salt, pepper, kitchen utensils, and cleaning supplies. There was good wine, delicious local honey, and plenty of other thoughtful touches waiting for me. I'd happily stay here again next time.
