Landhotel & Gasthof Cramer

The food was tasty, though my portion was too large, and the red South African wine we had was pretty good. We waited about 20 minutes for our hot dishes, which seemed reasonable as the restaurant was full. The waiter was friendly and spoke English. The place has an old restaurant interior with an interesting design, and I thought the wallpaper in the toilet was cute. There was a strong mix of food and cigarette smells inside, even when someone was smoking outdoors. I’d give it a good 4 out of 5.

Lunch in the Bierstube, dinner in the restaurant, and the breakfast buffet all went beyond what we expected. The service was great, friendly, and very accommodating. This lovely German Landstil hotel has high-standard rooms and very comfortable beds. Older groups, families, and even babies are welcome. Highly recommended!

We came back in August 2021, after our first stay in November 2018. The room wasn’t the setup we’d expected: we’d asked for a separate bedroom for our son, but got one with a separate bedroom for us. There was also a shower problem, though they fixed it straight away. We still had a good holiday. The staff did their best to make the stay great, even though the hotel seemed a little short-staffed at times. Finding staff is hard for businesses these days, so I still give the hotel and its team five stars. I did miss the little “vitamins” at breakfast, though ;) On our first visit, we liked the hotel’s location near the woods for hiking and MTB, with a few cities nearby for shopping and nice cycling roads. Our room was large and clean, with a basic but tidy bathroom and rolling shutters to darken the room at night. Breakfast had a good range of bread, meat, and eggs, plus some “vitamins” each morning. With half board, we could choose from three dishes at dinner, and it was no problem to change part of a dish if there was something we didn’t like. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Set in a quiet little village, this hotel has great views and a genuine feel. The fresh breakfast was tasty, and the staff were very friendly and spoke English.
