The food was delicious and really good quality, and the staff made us feel welcome with a smile, even though we don’t speak German. The dining room is small and cosy, so it gets busy quickly in winter. Definitely reserve a table ahead if you’re going then.

We stopped here for the second year in a row while driving back to Italy from Champagne, but sadly things hadn’t improved. The room and bathroom were large and clean, and the bed was wide and comfortable. The TV didn’t work. During a huge heatwave, the only cooling was a small fan moving hot air around the room. Insects could get in through the bathroom window, since only the room windows had nets, and mosquitoes kept us up biting all night. I understand air conditioning isn’t common north of the Alps, but things are changing and an update is needed. At over 100 euros for a room without breakfast, I expected more.

We stopped here overnight on the way to Italy and had a great stay. There’s no breakfast, but the room had a Senseo coffee machine with pods and milk, plus a small fridge with two bottles of water. We had dinner at Vogtskeller restaurant, where the homemade rösti was especially good. Highly recommended.

The location made it easy to get going early the next morning, and we were very happy with our overnight stay on the way to Italy. The room was lovely and spacious, with a Senseo machine and a fridge, and the food at the attached restaurant was delicious. The guesthouse owner was very friendly. Highly recommended! 👍
