We’d been hoping for the kind of meal we remembered, so it was a shame this visit fell short. The head cheese wasn’t tasty, and the farmer’s breakfast was mostly a big serving of meat sausage that wasn’t even fried, with hardly the fried potatoes we expected. Those potatoes were nearly cold, too. We knew there’d be a long wait because another party was given priority, and we were fine with that, but the food took 55 minutes to arrive.
The goose broth starter was excellent, and the service was friendly as usual. My truffle dish was only okay, very bland if it had been seasoned at all, and seemed overpriced to me. The aspic needed more seasoning too. We’ve eaten better here.
The restaurant was lovely and the staff were really friendly, and I enjoyed the food. It was my first visit. My daughter couldn’t eat her steak because it was cut so thick that it came out very dry. Maybe the chef could offer ribeye instead, just a suggestion.
It’s a well looked after restaurant with really tasty food. The location also makes it easy to head out to the sights around the region.
