We never wanted to leave, partly thanks to such helpful, friendly service. The food was the scratch-cooked kind, with quality ingredients handled really well, and generous portions with big flavours. In regional Germany, Landhauses can rely on lots of culinary shortcuts or take pride in cooking from scratch. Delighted to say this one does the latter. Fare that cares. I really should write greeting cards. If you're nearby, come here.

It was a pleasant surprise. The people were friendly, the food was good, and the view was great from this peaceful spot.

The small practical details were frustrating. There was no way to cool or heat food, and the hotel is too far from anything to walk to. The desk sits just half an inch below the window, so I had to clear everything off it to open the window. The shower pressure was miserable too. Breakfast was pretty good, but nothing else about the hotel really impressed me.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. The food looked good on the plate, but some was much too salty and some wasn't salty enough. The flavor combinations were weird, and it was really bad. My room was clean, but I only showered once. The water kept changing between cold and extremely hot, with no way to control it. I won't stay here again.
