The rooms are in the newer, utilitarian brick section, not the original historic-looking part. They’re very large and accessible, and the bathrooms are spacious too, though they feel institutional rather than like regular hotel bathrooms. The furniture has that same care-home feel, there’s a faint familiar smell, and the beds still have nurse-call buttons. It seems to still house some older residents, or perhaps rooms are being sold off as the residential facility winds down. The extension doesn’t match the older building. The property is probably an old mansion itself, and getting there means passing several large houses with their own grounds. It’s a pleasant area, but quite off the beaten track. The station is walkable, though the route uses a poorly lit side road and goes partly through a wooded area. It’s an okay cheap option for getting to Hamburg, as long as you know what to expect.
